Sports at AIS, has always been encouraged. The energy of the students is directed into constructive, character building activities such as swimming, basketball, athletics, badminton, cricket and tennis. The children train hard and for long hours and with determination and perseverance they excel at whatever sport they pursue. Click on any of the sport icons above to read about the range of sports at AIS.
In addition to the above mentioned sports students can also train in rowing, tennis and netball. AIS has re-introduced Karate and Football. Archery too will be added to array of sports very soon.
AIS is the host for the Inter International Swimming Championship held annually. AIS is the Alma mater of Beijing Olympic participant Daniel Lee and South Asian Games Gold Medalist Mineka Karunaratne, Olympic Youth Squad swimmers Matthew Abeysinghe and Machiko Raheem.
