ACADEMICS AIS follows the British system of education leading up to Edexcel IGCSE O'L and GCE A'Ls. The school offers a wide range of subjects and encourages diversity. For O'Ls we offer the full range Science and Commerce subjects, Art & Design, English Literature, French, Geography, History, ICT and Sinhala.
The A'Level Examination is now divided into modules. Students may sit for completed modules in 4 sittings if they wish. Most students will sit for the AS exam at the end of the first year. Exam times are in January and then again in June. AIS offers one of the widest choice of subjects in the International Schools of Sri Lanka. The subjects are as follows: All the Science, Maths and Commerce subjects, Applied ICT, English Literature, Psychology and Law.
2011 Exam Results The June 2011 results were commendable with more than ten students gaining As for 6 or more subjects. Amongst them one student gained 10 A*s and another student gained 9 A*s.In the Advanced Subsidiary 14 students gained 4As while 10 students gained 3As.
